(Feb. 4, 2010) — Dear James,

It’s been three years now since I heard your voice and saw your smiling face. You are always in my mind as I go along in life from month to month, adventure through adventure. I like to think about how you would have enjoyed each and every one.

It seems that you have more “company” this year. I am sure that you are enjoying having Rocky with you. Hopefully he is playing the guitar and entertaining everyone with his music. Bothering you, as always, is Rascal, the cat from Virginia. Even animals must make their way to heaven.

We missed you on our trip to San Francisco. You would have enjoyed “Bush Man,” “Box Man” and the other characters who came to life on the streets of San Francisco during the evening hours. Something tells me that you would have created yet another character of your own to entertain the tourists.

Patricia was born in Jersey City and was an executive secretary for Hearst Publications, New York City. Dear sister of Richard Szymanski. Loving aunt of Kristen and Stephen Szymanski.

ANNA RICCARDI

LYNDHURST (Jan. 28, 2010) — Anna Riccardi (née Fruncillo), July 26, 1926 — Jan. 18, 2010, of Lyndhurst. Devoted daughter of the late Domenico and the late Lucia Fruncillo. Loving wife of the late Cesare Riccardi. Beloved mother of Vittorio and his wife Geraldina, Rocco and his wife Rosanne, Mario and his wife Anna, Giovanni and his wife Rosanna, Nicola and his wife Michele. Cherished grandmother of Rosanna and her husband Daniel Scirica, Cesare and his wife Antoinette, Michael and his fiance Amanda, Roxanne, Paul, Giancarlo, Steven, Annalisa, Giovanni and Mario Riccardi. Adored great-grandmother of Isabella, Daniel, Victorio and Sabrina. She was our loving mother and grandmother, Anna-Nanina. Her life was dedicated to her family. Her husband whom she loved, her five boys and daughters-in-law whom she adored, admired and loved and her grandchildren whom she cherished. Her love and smile and laughter could always warm your heart. She had unbelievable strength which stayed with her until the very end. She will forever be in our hearts and our angel in heaven.

MARY AGNES AHLMEYER

CLIFTON (Jan. 28, 2010) — Mary Agnes Ahlmeyer, of Clifton, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in Wayne after a long illness. She was born in Jersey City on March 6,1923. Parents (deceased): George and Lillian (Murry) Ahlmeyer. She was a corporate secretary for Shell Oil in NYC before retiring in 1984. She lived in Jersey City before moving to Rutherford where she resided until moving to Clifton two years ago. She loved to travel, and would visit Walt Disney World in Florida yearly with her niece Nancy. She loved the Jersey Shore (West End Long Branch) where she visited yearly and owned a condo there for many years. She also loved to visit New England with her family twice yearly and loved spending time with her great niece and nephew there. Agnes was predeceased by a brother George, and a sister Audrey, and brother-in-law Paul Hiatt. She is survived by a sister, Theresa Indyk of Avon, nieces Nancy Hiatt of Clifton, Linda Hiatt Pinkall, and her husband Al Pinkall of Merrimack, NH, Nephews Paul Hiatt of Jersey City, Alan Hiatt of Rutherford, Marc Indyk of Wood Ridge, and Guy Indyk of Avon, two great-nieces, Kelsey Pinkall of Merrimack, NH and Caitlin Indyk of Manalapan, and a great nephew Ryan Pinkall of Merrimack, NH.

RUTHERFORD (Jan. 28, 2010) — Jean H. De Candio (née) Baker, 74, of Rutherford, passed away Jan. 19, 2010. Jean was born in Bayonne. She was a homemaker. Beloved wife of the late John. Devoted mother of Chris and his fiancee Lynn and the late Doug (2007) and his soulmate Kami Montagna. Loving grandmother of Lisa and Jessica. Adored great grandmother of Jeffrey.

MARY EMMA MCCALLUM

RUTHERFORD (Jan. 28, 2010)— Mary Emma McCallum (née) Schiano, 71, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Rutherford, passed away Jan. 20, 2010. Mary was born in Carlstadt and was a retired bookkeeper for the State of New Jersey. Beloved wife of the late George (1980). Devoted mother of Carol Wormke and her husband Donald of Florida, Wendy Frields and her husband Bruce of Florida, George McCallum and his wife Charlene of New Jersey. Dear sister of Anthony Schiano of Florida and Edward Schiano of New Jersey. Loving grandmother of Rachel, Christine, Eric, Lexie, Grace, Baby Brooke. Adored great grandmother of Ethan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

WINIFRED RAKOWSKI

NORTH ARLINGTON (Jan. 28, 2010) — A funeral Mass was offered for Mrs. Winifred Rakowski (née Zlepko), 97, of North Arlingtn, on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, following the funeral from the Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington. The interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Mrs. Rakowski died Jan. 14, 2010, at the Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Jersey City before moving to North Arlington 20 years ago. She worked as a clerk for the Western Union Corporation in New York City for 49 years before retiring in 1978. She is the cherished mother of Barbara McAndrew and grandmother of Thomas and Michael McAndrew. She’s predeceased by her husband, the late John Rakowski and her sister the late Jean O’Konsky.

ANN LIZZA

NORTH ARLINGTON (Jan. 28, 2010) — A funeral Mass for Mrs. Ann Lizza (née Lania), 86, of North Arlington, was offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington, following the funeral from the Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington. Entombment was in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Mrs. Lizza died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at her home in North Arlington. Born in Newark, she lived in North Arlington for the past 44 years. She was a member of the Happy Senior Citizens of North Arlington. She was the beloved wife of David, the devoted mother of Carmine and his wife Victoria, the cherished grandmother of David, Michael and Christopher and dear sister of Rose, Jen and Mike Lania and the late Frank Lania.

MONSIGNOR JAMES P. MCMENEMIE

LYNDHURST (Jan. 28, 2010) — Monsignor James P. McMenemie, 81, of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Passaic. Born in Harrison on Jan. 6, 1929, to David and Sarah (née McGovern) McMenemie. He attended Holy Cross Grammar School in Harrison, Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University in South Orange, Immaculate Conception Seminary, Darlington, and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he received a Licentiate in Sacred Theology.

KASSIE SANKEY SEETRAM

RUTHERFORD (Jan. 28, 2010) — Kassie Sankey Seetaram, 56, of Rutherford, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 23, 2010, after having a massive heart attack. Sankey was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Trinidad to Jassodra and the late Harry Seetaram. Sankey was a beloved elder at Rutherford Bible Chapel who always gave and never asked for anything in return. Sankey will be missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for his wit, his big heart, and his dedication to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and his community.

He is survived by his wife, Adriana, and four children, Victoria, Heather, Shara, and Bobby; mother, Jassodra Rose Seetaram; brothers and sisters, Indra, Seeta, Sandra, Robby, Kenny, Davy; in-laws Evans and Haniffa Khan, Karen, Beverly, and Evans Jr. He was a loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. NUTLEY (Jan. 21, 2010) — Jason R. Yaniero, of Nutley and former lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010. Beloved son of Concetta Yaniero. Loving grandson of Josephine and the late Dominick Yaniero Sr. Dear brother of Aaron and Renee Yaniero. Cherished nephew of Joanne, Anthony and Dominick Yaniero. Yaniero worked for Heritage Builders in River Edge for 10 years.

MARY LUTY

NORTH ARLINGTON (Jan. 21, 2010) — Mary Luty (née Matthews), 85, of North Arlington, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at the Clara Maas Continuing Care Center at West Hudson in Kearny. Born in Johnstown, Pa., she lived in North Arlington since 1945. She worked as an office manager for Mass & Waldstein in Newark for more than 25 years before retiring in 1990. She was the beloved wife of the late William Luty, the devoted mother of William Luty Jr., John Luty and Sandra Vasto and the cherished grandmother of six grandchildren. Arrangements by Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

LUCIE G. SCOTT

NORTH ARLINGTON (Jan. 21, 2010) — Lucie G. Scott (née Whittemore) of North Arlington died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, in the Clara Maas Continuing Care at West Hudson. Born in Mexico, Maine, she lived in Newark before moving to North Arlington in 1960. She worked for R.C.A. in both Harrison and Edison, for more than 20 years before retiring. She was the dear sister of the late Ada Caron, Ronello, Harry and Kenneth Whittemore, the cherished aunt of Harry Whittemore Jr. and Lee Barthelsen, the loving aunt of many great nieces and nephews and dear friend of Jack Leonard.

FRANK A. BONELLIi

EAST RUTHERFORD (Jan. 21, 2010) — Frank A. Bonelli, 81, of East Rutherford, peacefully passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010. “I held his hand and he slowly slipped away.” He will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted daughter Carole Cosentino and son-in-law Thomas, with whom “Grampa Frank” resided. Grandsons Dave and “Butch” and graddaughters Debbie Foote and Donna Arenal and their respective husbands, Steve and Manny all deeply mourn his passing, along with great-grandchildren Jarett, Jesse and Jenna Foote, also nieces, nephews, neighbors and members of East Rutherford Seniors of which he was a member. Grampa’s love extended to family pets — Vegas, J.J. and most of all “Tiki” who was Grampa’s lap dog. Frank joins his wife, Emily, in eternal peace in heaven. Private cremation. Kenneth W. Karle

GOULDSBORO, Pa. (Jan. 14, 2010) — Kenneth W. Karle, 91, of Gouldsboro, Pa., formerly of Wayne, died Tuesday, Dec. 29. He was born in Rutherford, where he attended Saint Mary’s High School, graduating with the Class of 1935. Later, he lived in Clifton before moving to Wayne where he resided for almost 50 years before moving with his wife to Gouldsboro, Pa., to be with their daughter. Mr. Karle was employed by Tung-Sol Electric in Harrison and later Wagner Electric in Newark. He had started as a bookkeeper and worked his way up in the company as a payroll clerk and finally as controller of the company before his retirement in 1980. He served for more than three years in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Devoted husband of the late Irene (née Schroeder) Karle (12/6/09); loving father of Karne Kenderdine and her husband, John of Gouldsboro, Pa.; Jeanne Karle of Pompton Lakes and Kenneth H. Karle and his wife, Diane of Wyckoff; loved brother of Margaret Karle Schack; cherished grandfather of Janis, Jessica and David Kenderdine, Jonathan and Jacqueline Karle and great-grandfather of Rowen and Jacob Kenderdine. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Wayne. Father Dan Kelly conducted the service at the Vander May Funeral Home on Jan. 4, 2010, and also at the cemetery.

Connie Ann Yurkovic

CARLSTADT (Jan. 14, 2009) — Connie Ann Yurkovic (née Paccione), 51, of Carlstadt since 1997 and formerly of East Rutherford and Hasbrouck Heights, passed away at home Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. For 12 years, Connie worked as a clerk for Mada Medical in Carlstadt. Beloved wife of Henry M. Yurkovic of Carlstadt. Loving mother of Nancy S. Yurkovic and Kathy A. Yurkovic, both of Carlstadt. Devoted daughter of Gilda (née Paolucci) Paccione and the late Anthony Paccione. Dear sister of Marie Paccione. Cherished daughter-in-law of Clara of East Rutherford and Vinct Yurkovic and sister-in-law of Trudy Pietrucha of Midland Park and her husband, John.

EAST RUTHERFORD (Jan. 14, 2010) — Rose Lombardi (née Dursi), 97, of East Rutherford, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009. Beloved wife of the late George Lombardi. Loving mother of Marie and her husband, Gilbert Logatto and Georgeann and her husband, Lynn Mathis. Dear sister of William Dursi, Helen and her husband, James Violante, Jeanette Dursi and many predeceased siblings. Cherished grandmother of Gilbert Jr. and his wife, Joni Logatto and Jill Lulewicz. Adored great-grandmother of Steven and Gracie. Mrs. Lombardi was a member of the Kip Center in Rutherford, CBH of the Meadowlands area and the East Rutherford Seniors.
