Easter Bunny train ride tix available

Things to Do

Anonymous writes "
In early February the Volunteer Railroaders Association announced the return of their very popular Easter Bunny Train Ride to be held this year on two Saturdays in March, the 24th and 31st.

Since then many people have purchased tickets and the trains are filling up fast. If you do not want to miss your chance to ride the train you will want to call or visit their web site to purchase your tickets. You can reach the VRA at 973-238-0555 or on line at www.easterbunnytrain.com Major credit cards are accepted.

This year the trains will depart the NJ Transit, Glen Rock Borough Hall station at 10:20 am, 12:20 and 2:20 pm on March 24th and take a ride up into Rockland County NY, before returning to Glen Rock. Then on March 31st the train will run out of Netcong at 9:25, 10:55 and 12:10 and from Hackettstown at 10:05, 11:40 and 1:05. Each trip will last about 90 minutes giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy the festivities on the train. Ticket prices are still only $8.00 for children under 12 and $12.00 for everyone else.

During the ride the Easter Bunny will hop through the train and visit each child and give them a special gift from his basket. In addition each child can have his or her picture taken with the bunny so they can always remember their ride, so bring your cameras. Also on board will be 3 other cartoon characters sure to entertain the kids and make for a great day out for all on board.

These trips are being run to help raise funds to restore and preserve the historic NYS&W Hawthorne train station. This little train station has been sitting on the corner of Diamond Bridge and Royal Avenues in Hawthorne for over 100 years and is a fixture in the middle of town. In addition the VRA will use the funds to continue to support the effort to create a New Jersey State Transportation Museum and Heritage Center. So while you are enjoying a great day out on the rails with the kids you will also be helping to preserve New Jersey’s rich transportation for generations to come.

So why not gather up the kids and Grandparents and join the VRA, the Easter Bunny and his friends on these fun train rides. Tickets for these trains usually sell out quickly so don’t delay call or visit them on-line today. The VRA staffs their ticket office on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7 to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4 pm all other times just leave a message and they will call you back.

The Volunteer Railroaders Association is a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit corporation
